The Team
Much like the start of every good joke you’ve ever heard, RCM was indeed founded back in 2018 by an Englishman and an Irishman.
Co-owners Neil McCoy and Philip Birch combine decades of recycling industry experience in both the UK and US markets with their passions for business. They’ve created a company that both supports environmental sustainability and offers economic efficiency.
Neil Mccoy: co-founder
Neil came to America in 1993 from a small village in Northern Ireland to pursue a career in the heavy crushing and screening industry. For seven years he sold one product line and realized the need to expand in his territory was needed. Neil started Crusher Works in 2000, selling a vast line of heavy equipment to serve the needs of multiple customers. After meeting Phillip Birch in 2017, Neil decided it was time to put his 25+ years of product knowledge to work with Phil’s 7 years to create RCM.
Philip Birch: co-founder
Co-founder of RCM, Phil moved to Birmingham, Alabama, in May 2018. Following the completion of a Law Degree in 2010, Phil moved into the recycling industry to oversee the development of Enterprise Skip Hire, later co-founding its sister company Enterprise Waste Management in Buckinghamshire, England. After seven successful years specializing in the recycling of construction and demolition waste, inert, and municipal waste, Philip decided it was time for a new challenge. Birmingham was the chosen destination.
Jack Scott: site supervisor
Jack is the veteran in the RCM team. He came to RCM with ten years experience in the landscape supply industry where he ran equipment, processed materials, and handled customer relations. As our site supervisor, he oversees all of our machine operations, product quality control, customer assistance, and much much more. Quite simply, when it comes to matters involving RCM, what Jack doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing.
Michelle Worster: Office MANAGER
Meet Michelle! Sometimes referred to as ‘office lady’ but Michelle is so much more to the RCM team. Originally from Kentucky and now residing in Bessemer, AL, Michelle previously worked as Director of Operations for a Landscaping company and now combines that knowledge with her accounts background to make the perfect Office Manager for RCM. Be sure to say hey to her next time you visit!
dONALD RICHARDS: machine operator
Donald is from Trussville, Alabama. Prior to RCM Donald was owner of DTR Trucking for 30 years. Donald decided to join RCM for a change of scenery and combines his mechanical knowledge and many years experience around heavy equipment to add to an ever growing RCM team. Donald can even be seen hauling material in his dump truck from time to time too.
brandon martin: Machine operator
Brandon lives in Birmingham, Alabama but originates from Canada. Since arriving in BHM 10 years ago he’s spent his time building motorcycles and muscle cars - something he also enjoys doing in his spare time. Brandon's enthusiastic and energetic approach make him a great fit for the team and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.
